Term 1 Week 5 Blog Prompt - Wednesday, March 4, 2009 1:11 AM Q: Singapore and Moscow are the two countries that got into the final round of the bid for the Youth Olympics 2010. You are the leader of the Singapore team, about to make a presentation to the committee considering your bid. Prepare a presentation. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sure that we all know that Singapore is smaller than Moscow and may assume that therefore Moscow is the best choice as it is more significant in the world map. But I would like to share my views on this situation. Singapore should be considered for the title of host as we have many facilities that other countries may envy. Firstly, we have many luxurious hotels that are situated near the various sports complexes around Singapore. Secondly, our sportinf facilities are widely known to be of the finest quality, to ensure that professionals have a fair and fulfilling competition. Our country also has a strong culture for sports, especially table-tennis. We are proud of our climate, that is neither too cold or too wet for any sport. Whoever comes to Singapore will most likely enjoy the sunny breeze and the occasional drizzle. We hope that you may consider us for the title of host for the 2010 Youth Olympic games, and give the younger generation a stronger respect for sports, and also the rest of the youths around the world. Thank you. |
