Help me!!! - Friday, March 27, 2009 8:08 PM I seriously don't know what to do lehx! Yesterday, I went to see Mr Tan Chee Wee about my transfer of CCA,a nd he snapped at me for changing my CCA to TT last time 'behind his back', cos last time he said that I couldn't get in because of a very good reason. Then when I finally understood this, he yells at me for not getting it the last time and now he is transferring me back to NPCC. But the point is that I don't want to be in a UG when I can be in Jud lor. Late last nght, Nigel called me and asked me to join judo. Cos earlier that day I went to the head of Judo and saked to be let in, before I went to see Mr Tan Chee Wee. Then at approx 5pm, I was still at Mr Tan's cubicle. It's not just because of my personal interest in Judo, but you all know that I'm a sporty perosn by nature, and Judo is really hardcore physical. NPCC is somewhat physical lah, but it's drills and all that. I've thought about it. NPCC= shooting, rifle drills, setting up camps, knot-tying, cooking, swimming, and that's about it. The whole thing is in many different aspects, some of them I will confirm fail. I'm not running away from the obstacles or anything, like Mr Tan said. But hell... you know what he said? If you change once more, I'll kill you... So what do I do now?): I quit my CCA :( - Thursday, March 26, 2009 3:10 AM Have you ever been in a situation where you were too noob for something and others could just walk over you in that area? I have D:, and it seriously sux. There are, like, the top ten table-tennis players in Singapore in HC's team lor, and obviously you can imagine me getting the s*** beaten out of me when I try to spar with them. So I decided to go and transfer out of table-tennis. I know it's too late for a CCA liek Judo or anything, so I've submitted myself to the fate of a uniform group(no offense to those in the UGs :p). I went to the office of CCA or something then went to see the teacher that gave me in when I wanted in to the table-tennis team, and told him he was totally right. So now, I"M out!! Sad to say it, but I just don't have the skill to make it to anywhere. And is there an unspoken rule for students to not sit down on the bus when it's crowded in there? Yesterday, I was standing for 30min alrd and was damn tired, so when an old man got up I sat down, and felt the whole bus staring at me!! I was like, what the hell is everyone staring at me for? So today I made a point not to sit until the whole bus was empty. By the end of the ride my legs were so stiff I had trouble walking, and I had some problem with my blood circulation( it's like that when you stand too long). I seriously hope I won't have to do that again. PS Nigel tried to wack Philmann 2 times today, and got into trouble with the office Facebook Account - Sunday, March 22, 2009 6:00 AM Oh, yah, If you see a facebook account called Keeve Quah, that's me. But I'm not going to check regularly, cos I created the account to spy on my bro's gf. I suspect she may have the password to my bro's account on my com. I need the pass so I can change myself back to an admin. You guys don't know? Ahh, it's a long story. Relevance to Today - 5:25 AM The Lottery Relevance to today Today, we live in a very competitive society, which is related to The Living Conditions in The Lottery quite inderictly, but this relevance is quite significant indeed. In school or a workplace of each average Singaporean, there are many people who strive to be on top. However, a minority of them do not have any goals that they work to, and these people enjoy their lives freely and without the worries of their bosses or teachers in any way, and are also what we often call 'slackers'. My point is that these people are picked out from the rest of the group and then ostracised, and finally beat down like how the unfortunate people who were picked for the lottery were stoned to their deaths. This is the most relevant example of our modern day 'lottery', although there are some differences. Firstly, this form of lottery picks out its victims not by random, but by their faults that other's just cannot tolerate. In other words, this lottery picks out victims who partly or fully deserve this punishment. And of course, the person does not die. I will now list down some examples that have taken place right before my very eyes. Firstly, someone in my class has been cruelly ostracised because of his tendency to irritate people, and possibly his obesity. This has affected his academic results and his ability to tell who his true friends truly may be. Secondly, I have a boy in my tuition who has his arrogance the factor that he sits by himself in a row of tables, while the rest of the class is huddled together in unity. And lastly, I am not mentioning these people to make them infamous, but rather to awaken people to the reality of their actions, and also so I can finish my homework. However, these people may be so traumatised by all this bullying that they may grow up to be a serial killer, or even not grow up at all... I hope that humans will never be so heartless as to really resort to killing others to get rid of their daily annoyances, and that they can learn the value of tolerance. This society is becoming much more like what I fear it will become someday. Yesterday's Gathering - Friday, March 20, 2009 5:42 AM Yesterday I went for my p5 term1 grp gathering to meet everyone who was in the grp's then. There was Nic Oh, Reiball, Shanisse and Daboob, and it's quite rare for Daryl to actually turn up for a gathering. First we went to Nic's house to play his wii for a while. I seriously sucked at the whole thing except for tabletennis and maybe relay, but in the end I still got thrashed by rb :(. Natasha was also there, and she apparently picked all the games that she was pro in so she could pwn all of us, but I'm ok with it, I guess. Oh yah, in the morning that day I went and bought magic cards while waiting for Nic, and I got all sucky cards, so now I'm still quite pissed, especially cause all the other booster packs I bought that day also had sucky cards >: Then after the wii we went for some badminton, and we had to wait like, 30min before the bus we had to take arrived. In that time we caught up with each other, an talked about Davis, hehe. Then someone( I won't say who, cos he/she will just kill me) said that Bryce was like Nigel. I feel sad for you, Bryce, or should it be Nigel? Anyway, we went to play badminton and I did pretty well. At least that's what I think. Then I went to open a bottle of 100-plus and there was a 'GLS' at the bottom of the cap. NONE of the others got a cap like that! I was super happy at that time, but today I pinched Gaboob's fats when I found I had to collect FIVE of those just to get an 'exclusive' coca-cola mug >:O After the badminton session, we were all sooo sad, especially Nic, who teamed up with Shanisse doubles the whole time :P. But finally rb and me decided to go with Nic to the movies to watch 'The Legend of Chun-Li'... Wah, I very tired now leh. That's only half the day lor, and then still got today. I go sleep alrd. Zzzzzzz. - Monday, March 16, 2009 7:34 PM Yesterday i went to watch a movie with my dad. It's called 'Push', and it's about people with psychic abilities, and it also had Dakota Fannings in it!<3 And after I watched the movie, I suddenly felt really lonely. As in, like I needed to get a gf or something O: I could have gotten one last year, but all the girls who sat next to me were, like, not my type(don't mention Joelle, cos I'll just die laughing XD). I have to wait for another 5 long years before I can even think about getting a gf, or people will think that I'm a flirt or something. There's this guy in my class who had a gf called Cindy, and now everyone talks abt everything that he might have done with her, mostly erm... never mind. But the point is that I seriously have to get somebody to go watch a movie with me so I won't feel like shit when I exit the cinema and others start kissing and whatever. Not that I wan to do that or anything la, but the scriptwriters these days just love to scorn ppl without gfs lor. So Nic Oh, plsplspls organise the gathering with a movie, I understand that shanisse is daryl's, and davis don't feel bad cos that's the truth, but at least I'll still have the company of some friends. Just for your info, I dreamt abt a girl yesterday, and only Andrew would know her, or some of the girls' friends in RGS. Ugh, I feel gay talking about this mushy stuff, so bye. My Gaming Life/ Branboob's Life so Far - 3:57 AM You all probrably know all about my addiction to WoW and Warcraft 3, or Halo, or whatever FPS or RTS games. Just for those who don't know, FPS is First-Person-Shooter, and RTS is Real-Time-Strategy. But recently I just picked a newfound interest for Magic: The Gathering, which is a card game that some of my classmates play. I lost much of my interest last year because none of my friends were sensible enough to play such a good game(Why???), and when I tried playing with Justin, he cheated like seow in my face and heck, yeah, he don't take it too seriously either:(. But now that I realise that Benny and XD play, I simply just have to pick it up again. Fortunately, my brother also is a Magic addict, so he supplies me with the cards I need to build the ultimate deck. I've already made one, but I currently don't have any rares in it, so don't slap me when you see me on Mon, Benny. And I'm proud to say that I've converted Branboobs into an absolute clone of the P-6 me! He's been spamming my SMS inbox with: What kind of girl do you like; You know who my valentine is?; I'm gay. Let's meet up someday. Hee, the last one is fake. But you guys got the point. He's a flirt :D, and he asks me for advice whenever posible. But please, don't mistake me for that kind of guy, cause I'm no longer the handsome guy who flirts, I'm just laying low now. And a tip for you, Bran, lose some of the fats, and not too quickly or you'll get moobs :P. All the best to you, old friend, and stop messaging me on the sick stuff( you don't even want to know what kind of XXX messages he sent me about his ******* and stuff. P.S. And in case any of you are wondering, I do NOT have a girlfriend, and I'm not eyeing anybody. Um, in case you heard anything from Benny or Zhi Yuan or FatMatt, about the 'when the chio-bu opened the door' during our newspaper collecting CIP, hehe, I must say that it was a complete accident, and it wasn't my fault. Those who don't know anything, then you'll just have to find out ;). Lots of cool new stuff! - Sunday, March 15, 2009 5:13 AM Hi everyone, by now if you're still regularly reading my blog, I thank you for being such a nice person. Anyway, I got my laptop yesterday, yays! All those days of saving up with all of yout treats and stealing Nigel's prata have finally paid off! Well, actually, my father paid for half of it. But I still got it, so I'm happy enough. What completely owns about my laptop is that it has a dedicated 512mb graphic card, which means whatever I do on my com, it will be in super high quality picture. And it basically means I can run Halo 3 or 2 on it ultra fast with no lag. Most laptops don't even have the graphic card needed for the installation of Halo 1. And furthermore, I got a free upgrade from 3gb RAM to 4gb! So now it has a 4gb RAM and 320gb HDD, which I think stands for 'harddisk' or something. I'm posting this with my laptop right now! I got a free cooler, as in to cool my com, a headset and a free antivirus software! Now it's cool, with a headset and completely BDQD FREE! No lah, actually Qi Dong is quite good now. I realise that I've been bad to you, man, so I seriously have to apologise. And I'm like, really sad now cause my results aren't as good as others. But I'm also happy, cos I'm not at the bottom of the class like I'm supposed to be. And somemore I'm also goddamn angry, cos my history got A1 and my Geog got B3, then when they mixed i got a freakin 3! Gahh, I hate mixed feelings. And everyone threw up their hands yesterday at CIP when we heard that Philmann got a 4.5. Wow. How did he manage to do that? Oh yah, and how do you like my new blogskin? I changed everything myself, from the title down to the links, tho there's only Nigel's and Matthew's there. Anyway, Nigel and me went for KFC after the camp( I won't mention the camp, if not I'll get pissed with Qi Dong for saboeing me again), and we found out that he lost his wallet. He was like in trauma swinging his arms around like Matthew does when he acts cute. So then I realised that I wasn't getting my treat which he promised, and I said," So am I getting a treat?" Then Nigel stared at me with Bing Jun's chee-ko-peh stare and then started to walk off. Sorry, Nigel, I know I'm kinda cheap. So tell you what. On the day term starts, I'll treat everyone to one exclusive roti prata. Yay! Mirrors Movie - Sunday, March 8, 2009 4:47 AM Today my father brought home some VCDs, and my mother let me watch them with him. The first one was srsly boring; it was about christianity and all that sort of stuff. It was supposed to be about how the world was supposed to end, but it turned out to be about how God saved the world from this disaster. I know some Christians will find this movie comforting, but couldn't help but sleep through the whole thing. My dad agreed and we have decided to give it to my christian aunt. Then the second movie was the direct opposite. It was called The evil spirit haunted people through the mirrors and forced them to find this Anna, and when they couldn't then they got into deep s***. So Ben, the main character, eventually finds Anna and puts a stop to all that. But the last part was really scary: the evil went back into Anna, who was then 60, and she had superstrength and superugliness too. But in the end she got killed... Anyway, the story may not seem scary to you so far, but the part that has been scaring the crap out of me is the part where Ben's sister, Angie, steps into the bathroom for her shower. She doesn't know about the mirrors. So she takes off her clothes( she was naked, yeah, M18 what XD), then she goes into the bathtub. Then her reflection in the mirror reached out for its mouth, and started pulling. I was like, going to vomit when Angie's jaw started tearing off! She struggled in pain to keep her mouth shut, but it kept on ripping. Then she dipped her head in the water for just a second, and the tub was filled with blood, zomg. I'll try to get a youtube video bar for you guys to check it out. This is only for those who have a strong will, and not for the weak-hearted. And if you're one of those sickos who are going to watch the thing just to see Angie naked, you will regret it. The sight of her jaws being torn off will ensure that you will never be a pervert again... Oh yah, and I'm telling you this not because I want to freak you out la (please, I'm not that sadistic). I'm just seriously creeped, and I need to find a way to get it out of my mind. Catch the vid. Byes :D Term 1 Week 7 Blog Prompt - Wednesday, March 4, 2009 1:48 AM Q: You are a local reporter who has been assigned to write up a 300 word article on a recent concert staged by the Four Seasons band. The editor wants you to describe the sights and sounds during the concert. You are also to include your opinion on whether the concert was worth going an what the band's future will probably be like. A flash of bright light pierced through the darkness and a low voice of mandirin could be heard. This was the situation of the Four Seasons concert. The moving entrance of the band drove some fans to tears. Philmann Neo, 17, told the reporters, "I have always loved this band!" Neo were also one the adoring fans of the Indonesian pop singers. However strange it is, they sing mandarin songs, adding a brand new genre of pop music as indonesian-chinese singers. An interview with the band reveals that they were born in an environment which was almost hostile to other races. But with the change of government, the band saw a potential in mandarin music, and are now doing their best to keep up with their fans' expectations, says the lead singer. In my opinion, they are an up and rising band of singers waiting to pounce on any oppurtunity, and I think that that is commendable for them. Through so much competition with other bands, they stil perservered, and at last managed to stand out from the rest and obtain the fame that they have now. Most poeple that attended the live performance of the band said that they 'would come again'. Term 1 Week 4 Blog Prompt - 1:30 AM Q: The human body today is laden with processed foods that are bad for it. Discuss this with particular reference to your own diet. I would like to make a confession. I eat Macdonalds almost every day and KFC (they are actually just frozen in a freezer, then heated for us to eat, so it's still counted) regularly. Am I fat, though? Some people say I am, but I don't think so. I think eating fatty foods can actually be good for you, if you know how to use them correctly. Most processed foods are fatty foods, and I they give us energy. So, if you use this energy correctly, it is possible to exercise all of it away and furthermore even get more muscles! But one thing that I think is bad for health is instant noodles. They have something called MSG, and my aunt died from eating too much of that. So I guess I'll have to watch my diet and make sure I don't eat that too often. Canned foods, which are the main kinds of processed foods if I'm not mistaken, contain preservatives similar to the wax used in instant noodles. Canned fruits not only contain that ingredient, but they are also soaked in water before packaged, and tus they lose most of their vitamins in the water, so I usually avoid them. One thing I regret is that the school forced us to donate canned sardines to old folks for CIP without knowing that it was unhealthy. Term 1 Week 5 Blog Prompt - 1:11 AM Q: Singapore and Moscow are the two countries that got into the final round of the bid for the Youth Olympics 2010. You are the leader of the Singapore team, about to make a presentation to the committee considering your bid. Prepare a presentation. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sure that we all know that Singapore is smaller than Moscow and may assume that therefore Moscow is the best choice as it is more significant in the world map. But I would like to share my views on this situation. Singapore should be considered for the title of host as we have many facilities that other countries may envy. Firstly, we have many luxurious hotels that are situated near the various sports complexes around Singapore. Secondly, our sportinf facilities are widely known to be of the finest quality, to ensure that professionals have a fair and fulfilling competition. Our country also has a strong culture for sports, especially table-tennis. We are proud of our climate, that is neither too cold or too wet for any sport. Whoever comes to Singapore will most likely enjoy the sunny breeze and the occasional drizzle. We hope that you may consider us for the title of host for the 2010 Youth Olympic games, and give the younger generation a stronger respect for sports, and also the rest of the youths around the world. Thank you. Term 1 Week 8 Blog Prompt - 12:51 AM Q: Describe how people in your country are doing their part to save the country. More and more people in Singapore are feeling the pinch of rising temperatures and more so the increase in the price of electricity. I feel that it is not the public speeches about how to save the environment that is doing the trick, but rather the rising cost of electricity. As long as people don;t get what they want for free, they immediately tighten their belts^^. Anyway, people anround my neighbourhood have been more conscious not to litter or spit on the ground wheever they want. They grow plants outside their houses, which add to the greenery of Singapore. Hwa Chong is recycling the newspapers that hey have us read in the morning and that is definitely friendly to the environment. And just this afternoon, I met my neighbour, who told me how we should all save electricity and water by switching off the lights when we go to sleep( just for your info, I sleep with lights on :p), and not to let the shower head run on for too long. He told me taht most people have already started living with these steps to save the environment. They got plumbers to install half-flush buttons in their toilet bowls to save more water in flushing and some of them even avoided flushing their toilets completely, though I do not recommend this. Furthermore, they are also encouraging their children to rinse their mouth after brushing their teeth with a cup of water instead of a running tap. I have also begun to adapt to these steps that can help save the environment. But the irony of all this is that we use electricity while we use the computer to write these 'environmeantaly friendly' reports. But it's better than using paper, I guess. |
