Socrates came up with socratic questioning. It interests me to find out who he was, so I checked and found out that he actuallt taught Aristotle and Plato! Getting back to the topic, he used socratic questions to ask his pupils about most everything. They were urged to dare to try to be the most accurate of them all, so accurate that it moves people forward to their own goals.Socratic questioning clarifies and 'probes'(everywhere I looked I got this word) every aspect of the topic, like relevance, accuracy and depth. It also promoted asking questions about questions.
