The Best Waste of Time - Friday, January 30, 2009 7:51 PM The day of my birthday, I bought myself a psp! My brother thought he lost a psp, so he bought a new one. Then he found the lost psp and then sold it to me for a $150. PLUS, I also got a 4gb memory card for free! Of course, my mom doesn't know, or I'll be dead, hehe. It just so happens that she confiscicates everything in my life that is worth something to me. The games in my handphones, she deleted them while I was asleep :(. So you might be wondering where I'm hiding it. Well, in plain sight, because she lets my brother keep it in plain sight, and doesn't know about the sale. Whee:D)D)D)D)D)D)D)D)D))))D)) Oh, and yesterday, I got into a big fight with Nigel. I nabbed his ping pong bat when we were playing chinese chess( cause the game was seriously boring) then he ran up to the table-tennis CCA room and stole my bat, not to mention that he hid my bag too. Then we got into a big fight when he banged my bat sooooo hard on the metal bars and utterly destroyed the sides of my bat. Then I finally tricked him and grabbed my bat from him. I banged his bat on the wall a couple of times, then at last went back, to see him doing his face on the stairs. When I said sorry and gave him back his bat, he destroyed it even more! In the end, we made up through my drama skills and uber persuasion techniques, and Nigel gave me back my bag( which he conveniently hid in the closet). We went back to the canteen table-tennis tables and watched some gay dudes do breakdancing. All was well at the end of the day. If you're reading this, Nigel, I'm real sorry about yesterday. Socratic Questions - Wednesday, January 28, 2009 2:59 AM Socrates came up with socratic questioning. It interests me to find out who he was, so I checked and found out that he actuallt taught Aristotle and Plato! Getting back to the topic, he used socratic questions to ask his pupils about most everything. They were urged to dare to try to be the most accurate of them all, so accurate that it moves people forward to their own goals.Socratic questioning clarifies and 'probes'(everywhere I looked I got this word) every aspect of the topic, like relevance, accuracy and depth. It also promoted asking questions about questions. The Thinkquest competition - 2:48 AM Hi. If you have been checking the EMB often you should have seen something about a Thinkquest competition. You all know how bad I want a laptop. I need team members real bad:(. Basically, we have to start a website on something, then if it's cool enough they nominate you and you win at least a camera! Wooooooot!!! So, who's in? But first let me tell me how much I've been going through to get a laptop but still haven't got one. I've been complaining for almost a month now and persuading my best, but they still won;t get me a laptop. I can pay for it myself, when other parents, like my friend in 1i3's, can get him a lptop for FREE >:(. Mark my words, b******, I'm going to win the competition. Blog Prompt: Q1 - Monday, January 26, 2009 7:41 PM Dear young ladies and gentlemen, I, Dr Tan, am honoured to be writing to all of you. Firstly, I would like to discuss the reason I completed the seven marathons and most importantly, how I did it. I knew that if I had good goals and strove hard for them, I would one they get them. It was hard work training, yes, but as you all know, it paid off. You should all follow my example, by setting goals of your own and trying your hardest to fulfil your dreams. Goals are just the beginning of the journey. As Einstain once said, "Success is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration." There might not be a guarantee that you will all succeed in life, but I can tell you that it is well worth the try. I believe that through sheer determination, you will all grow up to be well-groomed young men and women that can contribute to the society consistently. My life story is one of the many examples of those who put in their blood and sweat for their dreams, and achieved them. Though I have said enough, I would like to urge you all once again to set your goals, and then go get them! Yours sincerely, Dr Tan The year of the OX is here! - Sunday, January 25, 2009 11:03 PM Sorry I haven't been posting for so long. I have been caught up with getting all my ang paos and going to the temple to pray for good luck in the new year. So, out of curiosity I'm going to ask all of you ow much you got in CNY money. I'm going to replace the boring post about the music things. Just for your information, I got 1k + dollars and I officially have enough for my laptop! So, what's your new year resolution? Mine is to study hard and get lots of good stuff, like my laptop and a psp. Yay! By the way, the day we go back to school is the day of my birthday, and I would really love <3 you guys if you could bring like, 2 dollars for me per person. The death of two close to me...(emo) - 10:52 PM In a week, I lost those two who had just entered my family, they were Rattrap and Samantha, my two hamsters But today, I have sworn to forget about their lives and move on. I went to the temple and prayed that they would find peace in the next world. I hope they do... Judo - Wednesday, January 21, 2009 3:49 AM Today I went for Judo trials, but not actually to get in. All of you guys who haven't gone to the trials, you better watch out for Keeve, baby. They taught me how to sweep, toss, pin and lift people bigger than me. But there was this bui bui who also plays table-tennis but didn't get into the team, he KILLED me in Judo, man. He's like, my height and 63kg, but amazingly is not like Matthew. He's got an okay figure, as in like Nigel's, but 63kg is feaking ridiculous. When the seniors wanted us to pin each other, the moment I turned around, he flung his weight on my balls! BOOM, and I'm down, I struggle until my face almost burst, but how do you expect me to breach such a heavy piece of meat? Bingmann, you gotta go learn Judo and own the hell out of his meats. Aww, but the practice trials ended today... Too bad, guys. Now whatever you try to kill me with, I'LL bust your balls!!! This has probably been the most inforaml and vulgar post in the blog so far, lol. Never mind, right? Ms Soh won't be checking for a while. And thanks for your pratonising of the poll. Did you know that Second Hand Serenade is a one man band? The Fountain of Wealth is Officially Up! - Tuesday, January 20, 2009 4:28 AM Hi everyone :), The poll has been closed, with fat and cute in the lead! Nigel is officially cute and fat! Yay... Anyway, most of you have heard of the fountain of wealth. The stuff I said is part crap, part truth. If you wish hard at the fountain, and then work hard for it, you will most likely achieve your goal. For example, you all want to kill Philmann, you could, like, mess up his hair, tuck out his shirt and cut his socks short so you can see the ankle ball, just when Mr Tan is around the corner. Whee, instant 3 demerit points for him! Then he may be so traumatised that he may just jump off a building(ring...ring...adelineeee). I am going to post another poll strictly for your entertainment purposes. Matthew, please don't copy my idea of polls. I mean, I know that it's not a crime, but can you please spare me some face or not? Thanks so muchies! This week's topic: Which one of the following is your favourite music band (for those who don't listen to music, just put none of the above,k?). Enjoy! Change of Address - Sunday, January 18, 2009 2:45 AM Most of you will be reading this on Monday or Tuesday, cause I think that you guys lost my blog? The thing is, I changed my blog URL, as from the start I knew I made the wrong choice for its name. Dark Abyssal..... is LAME! So I decided to change to something nerdier and lamer but less emo, and that's "thekeevemann". Cool, huh? Oh yeah, I'm proud to say that I actually solved the math quiz of yesterday! I really hope that it's correct. As you know, I have the list of blogs in the class, and I am now going to rate the names, in no order of merit, on their meaning. Here it is:
Oops, I can only see these two. Sorry:(. Oh yah, Wei Ron, can you shorten your blog's name? People type your address confirm will get xian wan leh... The Math Quiz is evil!!! - Friday, January 16, 2009 6:10 AM The math quiz that's on everyday, is freaking evil. They make you think that you can solve it first, then they just make do dot he super long method(which is probably the only method available) to solve the problem. Only the first one can be considered as a question. The next two just suck. It's all about exhausting the things and stuff. I tried to find the number of routes I could go to, then it ust got impossible. Then I checked how many ways to get to the other point for just like 1/100 of the whole thing and it was then. Then I added to more squares and poof.. it became 17 ways!!!!!! And yesterday was about some staircase thing. The only possible way to get these questions right is to cheat. For example, go ask your seniors or something for the answer (one person I know has done that, but I am not disclosing the name, hee) or google it and, if you are real lucky, you'll land exactly on the question and the answer. YAY! Oh yeah, and Matthew, can you stop acting cute in front of the teachers? It's seriously grossing me out :/. I know food and all is very anticing to you, but please, think about the rest of us and stop waving the fats all over the place and screaming 'pick me'. That's the main reason why you dind'nt get the best speaker thing for today. Your comments was disruptive to the class and were over exxagerated. Phewwww...Now that's finally out of the way, I can now talk about the poll about Nigie. You guys have 2 more days to vote! Handsome and fat are now the leading factors of the poll. Cheer on Nigel, RAR!! Congrats on getting the 1st 'fit' :). Current Affairs Panel Discussion - Thursday, January 15, 2009 6:34 AM Hey friends, how's it going on in life? If I'm not wrong, tomorrow is the debating thing for the whole class to participate in. Jia you, Benny(host), scoop up as many ace points as possible! According to the rubrics, the host is supposed to be get the class settled down quickly, has to be articulate, has to lead and engae the class, do a good job in getting the class' attention(Philmann and his ROFLs should do the trick ;))and should be able to maintain decorum and order throughout the session. Sigh, too bad I won't be able to do get any ACE points. That's ok, right? Anyway, Jian Shun and I will be doing the observing, which means that I will control the number of ACE points you guys get, heheh. And today at malay class, I was laughing at Philmann in the first part, so the teacher probably thought that I was rowdy or something. So when I was reading the passage we were being tested on, she gave me a measly 6.5 marks, when some other guy talked like ROFLing crapses got 7 marks. WTH?!! This is favouritism, man. Cao Lao Shi, you gotta help me!! Anyway, this week I'll practice like siao and then get the freaking 10/10 for the reading thing.Oh, and some of you may have seen me cutting out something from the newspaper today. It was a milo ad, that you can buy milo dinosaurs from macs. Yeah, I bought one today and am sipping it this very moment. It tastes exactly like chocolate milkshakes. That's nice, but completely not wrth the $3 it's selling for. Well, it's just my luck >:(. Buh-bye for today I guess. And Darren, you should stop spouting the ef-word in every sentence... Blog Prompt for SILVER WORKFORCE - 6:32 AM Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I am here today to present to you that the idea and the decision of re-employing aged workers like myself is a good one. For many years, we have worked through sweat and tears all for the sake of our employer. However, our loyalties have only been rewarded with unemployment. I believe that workers young and old can work side by side during the time of this economic crisis. Even though the Manpower Ministry has most likely re-ployed us just in an attempt to pull up the economy, I promise you, ladies and gentlemen, that we will do that and much more. Please, give us a chance to work for you again, so we can earn our keep in this lion city. Even though a few adjustments have to be made in the work place to make it more age friendly, such inconvenience will be nothing compared to the benefits you will be reaping from the employment of experienced, skilled workers. Make the right choice and employ us. Thank you. (Applause and whistles...) Saving a senior's life - Wednesday, January 14, 2009 4:11 AM Hi guys, today I was at the us stop after officially getting into the tabletennis EP3(yay me!!!:)))) and nigel was next to me(he got in too:D) when we noticed a mysterious black file. It turned out to belong to some blur sotong Sec 3 guy fro 3Q. I can't imagine what horrors he will face tomorrow if he tells the teacher he lost the file. As you may have noticed in the morning, I got yelled at my Ms Soh just for not bringing the damn book and Anton got 'blasted' by Ms Ann for coming late. When you lose a file, I think you will kena expel! So tomorrow I'll pass the file over to the guy's classmate. He'll just be so grateful that the whole school will know my name in their hearts, as the boy who saved a senior... -.- Ehem, that was lame... Never mind that. I heard that you guys want to see pictures of Rattrap(the hamster), but I seriously can't find the adapter leh, so sad. Maybe one day I'll bring him to school, just so you can pet him-including you Philmann, but don't squish him...- and get to know him better. Oh yeah, I notice that you guys really like polls, so I'll be posting them like, every six days. Hope you keep on enjoying my blog =). P.S. Nigel is a great guy. He just treated me to a drink today. People From the Past... - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 12:42 AM Today, I met a total of 5 people whom I knew since primary school. First there was this girl from my previous school, standing at the bus stop. This kind of triggered some unusual excitement from the guys in 1I3 who were with me then, cause they also knew her lah. There was also this guy who used to like her-and I highly suspect that he still likes her- who was shivering from excitement, haha. Then when I was getting on the bus... ok, I just decided that this must be the boringest thing on Earth so I'll just talk about something else... Well, a lot of you wanted to see my hamster as in in the photo, so I'll try to get it in by today. Pleeease keep reading the blog, k? Ok, so my top 5 best friends now are (and be proud of it!!):
Rattrap! - Monday, January 12, 2009 3:24 AM Hi guys, Today was boring, but I can tell you something that's not :). Last Saturday, a girl from my tuition class aparently had too many hamsters, so she gave me and my korean friend (who is a boy) a hamster each! So I named my hamster Rattrap, and bought all sorts of stuff for it. Fir example, an all new cage!!! Plus lots of yummy food and biscuits, to even bathing sand. Yay! The thing is, I found out Rattrap is an extremely picky eater. He eats sunflower seeds all the time, cause I think they are hamsters' all time favourite, heh. He only eats the other foods when he is really hungry, like in the middle of the night. I like to let him run around my room, outside his cage. He's pretty smart. When you put somehting in front of him, he wawlks over it or squeezes his way through. Sounds cute, huh? He keeps shitting on my hand when I pick him up though >:O. But that's ok, I still love him, right Rattrap?. Hee hee, he just nodded his furry head :D. I got to go feed him now. Bye for now^^. P.S. I'm working on the photos. Just hang on for the next post. Keep reading my blog guys! Yesterday... - Friday, January 9, 2009 7:49 PM Sorry I didn't post yesterday. It was kind of a busy day. Well, yesterday I got into a fight that I hope won't affect me too much. It all started when I was in class, between periods. I was asking Adriel whether it was CCA orientation for sports today. Then you know what? He told me to ef off!! I mean, all I was doing was ask him a question anad he snapped at me like that. He totally pissed me off! Since then, he has been greater nemesis of mine, more so than Philmann, not that I really hate Philmann now.(thats how i spell your name right, Philmann?) Then on the way to the science lab, I was complaining to Qi Dong about his lack of Integrity. So he heard me and then he intentionally bumped into me. I was really annoyed so I pushed back and told him to bed his mom (heh, that was a mistake:( ) So he shoved back at me and I shoved back until he ran away. Then at the field during CCA orientation, I whacked the ball pretty suckily, then I saw Adriel smirking. So, when he tried to hit the ball two times and still failed, it was obviously my turn to laugh. Then I think Nigel whacked him ont he head or something and they started chasing each other. So I cought up with Adriel and grabbed him by the shirt. Then for no aparent reason he swung his (meaty) hand and hit me in the stomach while successively shouting the f-word. Most of you guys would have seen me beat the faeces (remember, no vulgarities!) out of him. Then he cried. Sorry for him I was, but not so sorry for Nigel and me. Then the senior cancalled down our names and, however hard I pleaded, he just would'nt erase the mark P.s. Nigel, I know you said that my blogging code is retarded or something-.-. Please ah, give me chance, cause I'm just starting. Anyway, thanks for the constructive critism :D. - Wednesday, January 7, 2009 11:57 PM Yawnn... Today was probably the boringest day of my life. I stayed back for air rifle, but in the end they told me that it's tomorrow :((((. And, I discovered that I don't know anything about blogs. I don't know how to put blogskins into my blog and I dunno how to put in a c-box for you guys, and most importantly, I don't even know how to delete my gadgets! Anyway, today Nigel was bugging Bing Men again cause he was being lame( as usual). Then during infocomm, Bing Men suddenly lashed out at Wei Zhi (the guy with the funny hair) and then Nigel went up and wacked his a**. Bing Men kicked back and then the infocomm teacher stopped him, and blamed him for violence, hehe. Oh, hope I'm not flaming. By the way, any of you guys want to join table-tennis? Tomorrow's the orientation for sports, if I'm not wrong. Good luck to all ^^!! CCA Orientation - 5:26 AM Today was a CCA orientation day, and it was all about the uniformed groups. I was just extremely bored cause I'm a sporty person by nature. Luckily, this Friday is the sports orientation, so I will get a chance to get into the Table-Tennis team :D. But I heard that it's real hard to get into the team, so keep your fingers crossed for me please! Please don't take this as flaming, but my friend, Nigel, just found an all new enemy that he will most likely make life miserable for the rest of his time in HCI. His name: Bing Men. His real name is Philmen and the Bing came from.... oops, I think I said too much. I will just stop 'flaming him' so I don't get demerit points. And for today's homework, there was well, a lot to say the least -.- There was LA, chinese and even geog... I was surprised to discover that all the internet is required to complete every one of the pieces of work :(. That was also good news in a way, cos it's another way for me to persuade my mom to finally get me my much deserved laptop. I guess I have to do my homework now, (still haven't completed the LA... sigh...) The Starting of My Blog - Tuesday, January 6, 2009 2:29 AM I have just created a blog and I am sure that not many people are going to read this, one reason because everyone in my class is required to create one. Here are some random things about myself: I like Warcraft alot(played Warcraft 3 and WoW in all the expansions ;D) and will take on anyone who challenges me, especially Benny from class. I also play many first person shooters like UT3, Halo, and even lame games such as Soldier Front, cause it's my only way to play with other people without lagging the crap out of my com. I play Table-Tennis... Uhhh, apparently my LA teacher wants us students to create a blog to keep track of school life, so she should probably expect complaints aplenty XD. Now I'm literally begging my parents to get me a laptop, but thry are far from changing their mind. They are utterly hopeless when it comes to IT. Hope I'm not too boring on my first post. P.s. Forgive the typos if you have seen any. Trying to improve on my typing while blogging. It phails T_T. |
